International Photographers Association of Los Angeles 洛杉磯國際攝影家協會

I took my first picture some 40 years ago as a high school student. Went to classes, had my own dark room, and had lots of fun chasing the girls around with my (German made, all mechanical) camera. Then I had to give it up due to visual issues with my eyes. Never really touched a camera since (other than point-n-shoot type family pictures).

Some time in 2011, it hit me that I will be needing something to do after the kids leave home. By chance, I saw this Nikon D90 available at eBay for a very low price (<$500). So I grepped it and was astonished how far technology has advanced!

What follows are some samples of pictures I took in the last few months. I am very rusty with the "how to" of photography but at least I can take reasonable pictures now.

"艺术家" is too high a level, thanks. He always loves to craft pumpkins. These three took him 2 days and might be the last year he will have time to do it. College next year.

The challenge for this poor dad was to try to preserve his "masterpiece". It got me itchy and prompted me to look for a better camera and dusted out my picture taking hands. An all-automatic setting would have produced a picture like the photo attached below and would not have preserved what he wanted to show.
