889 SGB is a Photographic Association started by Dr. Tony Shum. The only membership requirement is a passion for photography. Founding members include Dr. Marcus Wong, Miss Margaret Tsai, Mr. Sam Hung, Miss Christine Qien and Mr. Huang Yuhong.

This up-coming event will be presented by three photographers who started in the film era in the Photojournalistic tradition. The first photographer continues in the digital arena with the same approach and becomes a successful Wedding Photographer in the main stream community. He constantly rub shoulders with Hollywood Celebrities. With a MBA degree, he brings his wisdom to the business of Photography as well. He will show us his recent work which should be exciting as well as educational.

The second photographer had formal training in Art School and majored in Photography. With over 30 years experience as a Journalist, Editor and now a Fine Art Artist, he brings another perspective to the wonderful world of Digital Photography. He is also uniquely qualified in understanding the development of Photography in China. An inspirational presentation is to be expected.

The third photographer takes yet a different route in the Digital Era. He employs digital tools to create unique images that express certain moods and evoke responses from the audience. This should stimulate the attendees to explore his or her own creativity and further enjoy the Act of Photography.

I was invited to give a presentation by Leo and Huang Shui Luong a few weeks ago. This presentation will take place at my office instead of Soyedo at the same time as the usual Friday gathering. Since food will be served, we will start at 7 pm instead of 7:30pm. The presentations will start promptly at 7:30pm. Yes, please note the change in location on that Friday evening. 我觉得大家都是摄影爱好者，实在没必要那么多的门户之见。Dr. Shum 几乎每个周五都会来沙龙参加活动。我们为什么不能到去Dr. Shum 那里活动一次呢？再次感谢Dr. Shum为大家组织这次很有意义的活动！

Thank you everyone for supporting this event. The seats are now been all taken by those who called to RSVP. There will be name tags given for the seats. For those without name tags, you are welcome for the presentation but no seats ( standing room only ). For those with RSVP, come early to enjoy the dinner . Parking is available in the parking lot and in the neighborhood. Early arrival will ensure a parking space. See you all next week.
