My LD has approved a lens purchase in the near future.

My photography is not restricted to any special subject. My current gears include 20D, 5D, EF17-40mm f/4, EF 24-70mm f/2.8, EF70-200mm f/4, EF100-400mm, EF100 f/2.8 macro and EF50mm f/1.8II.

I have been thinking about EF70-200mm f/2.8 IS and EF 85mm f/1.2 II. Which one is more versatile or you think I should get? Let me know. Thanks a lot!

or
trade your EF50mm f/1.8II and EF17-40mm f/4 for EF 85mm f/1.2 II and EF70-200mm f/2.8 IS

Don't know what your budget is. You may also consider to add macro lens or telephoto (>=600mm) lens.

Budget is limited because of house bought at the worst time and 2 birds needing to be fed and raised.

But if Tony is willing to trade my 50mm f/1.8II with his 85mm f/1.2II OR my 17-40mm f/4 with his 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, then there is NO budget problem

Yeh! eventually I want to put my hands on the 600mm or 800mm so I can go shooting with Xiao Zhang and Master Hung

Everybody recommends fast fixed focal length lens! I got the idea!

I fund a 85mm f1.2L from craigslist.org. The asking price is about $400 less than brand new price. The guy claims the len is almost new. Just for your reference.
